After taking a 1-up lead over Davis Love after the first 18 holes of the 36-hole final at the World Match Play Championship, Geoff Ogilvy pulled away in the afternoon to win the match 3 and 2. Elsewhere, Zach Johnson edged Tom Lehman 1 up in the consolation match.

Pate wins Outback Steakhouse Pro-Am

Jerry Pate jumped in the lake again, signaling another victory at long last.

Pate’s birdie putt on the final hole gave him a one-shot win in the Outback Steakhouse Pro-Am on Sunday, his first pro victory in 24 years. Pate shot a 5-under 66 for the day to finish at 11-under 202 for the tournament.

The last time Pate won - playing with an orange ball at the Tournament Players Championship in 1982 - he jumped in a lake just off the 18th green at Sawgrass.

Triplett sizzles on back nine to win

Kirk Triplett shot a final round 63 that featured four straight birdies on the back nine Sunday, reaching 22 under to claim his third PGA Tour victory at the Chrysler Classic.

Triplett, who turns 44 next month, almost missed the cut after opening rounds of 68 and 71 placed him 5 under. But he sizzled on the weekend, shooting 17 under in the last two rounds and making a spectacular run on his final nine.
